Expanding Python Education and Credentials: A Global Perspective

Miami: Fostering Technical Education

The 2023-2024 CTE (Career and Technical Education) Opening of School Presentation in Miami was a vital platform for Python education. Held on August 15, 2023, at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus, the event was a gathering spot for CTE teachers from the Miami Dade School District. They were keen to explore our booth to learn about our Python programs. Significant developments in certifications like PCEP and PCAP have been added to the Master Credential List, allowing teachers to offer these to their students.

El Salvador: Embracing Python through Webinars

On August 18th, Roobed Trejo led a Python Webinar, a collaborative effort between the Secretary of Innovation in El Salvador and the Superior School of Innovation and Technology. This event emphasized the growing importance of Python programming in Latin America.

Colombia: Discussing the Impact of Certifications

A step further into Latin America led us to Colombia. Here, Roobed participated in an event called Encuentro Internacional Empresa, Academia y Sociedad frente a la Certificación en Tecnologías Disruptivas y Open Source. The event was organized by Instituto Técnico Profesional – ITP of the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia – UNAD. His talk on August 24 focused on the "Impacto de las certificaciones en el mercado laboral" (Impact of Certifications on the Job Market).

In summary, the month of August was packed with events that placed Python programming and technical certifications at the forefront of educational and employment discussions, both in the United States and Latin America. These programs and talks serve as building blocks for the broader adoption of Python and tech credentials worldwide.
